It seems Lorgin is experiencing fluctuations in his Charl powers that Yaniff believes may be an indication that he will experience an increase in his abilities. The tenth level mystic-in-training, Rejar continues to exasperate his Charl Master, Yaniff; who in turn continues to subtly manipulate the brooding Traed into the Charl way of life.

Not even close to her finest moment. I loved the first and the second books in this series.They are fabulous! (BUT) Starting at Rejar, a book that is not very good, I would give that one and the last book a miss. That last one is particularly awful. I wish I could have that time backWhat is so bad? Well (3rd and 4th books) it is the characters that are not endearing, smart, funny, sexy, considered, or thought provoking. The plot in both books is flat. I bought this book (Death by Ploot....)because I wanted an update on the characters of the first two books. This series feels like she (Dara Joy) died after the first two books and a really bad ghostwriter came in and wrote the rest of this series.

This Matrix of Destiny book includes the favorite characters of the series. But, as usual with a Dara Joy book, the humor is laugh-out-loud funny. And it's all based on a joke that goes out of control. So while we wait for the next Matrix book (the one that resolves all of the hanging issues from the other books) enjoy this one.
This Matrix book was funny while trying to be romantic. I thought if pulled it off well, now I'm going to go read the next book.
I like the name, but I do not understand why she just did not leave it st Valentine's day. I guess for the humor factor, which was cute. The book is just a general day to day review, nothing major. Again, I felt the ending came from the right field and it just wrapped up without a true finished ending.
Okay, so Ms Joy thinks she's funny and decided to poke fun at her characters through this book. Yes, it was humorous to see how an Earth woman's customs can get so turned around by the Avarians. But I can't help but wonder what the point is? Why is Ms Joy writing such short stories? Why hasn't she created a follow up novel on par with the 1st 3 in this series? After waiting years to return to this remarkable universe, Ms Joy is rapidly losing me as a fan of her work. She has not expanded one iota on what the first 3 books led up to. Anyone looking for resolution is in for disappointment.
This nor Cat Scratched could even be considered Bks 5/6, these did not add anything to the main stories, just a lot of holes like Swiss cheese. Guess we'll be waiting another 5 yrs till she even, oh who are we kidding, she never will.
Death By Ploot Ploot was funny and a great way to revisit the wonderful characters of the Matrix world. Dara Joy's sly sense of humor is well displayed here and I cannot wait to start back in on the Matrix series. This story could have been longer; but, I saw it as an 'amuse bouche' just a bite to warm you up for the entre to follow and I have already ordered the next book in the series. I cannot wait to find out what ultimately happens to Traed--it has been a long wait but I have the feeling Dara will make his fate worth the wait.
Love this series, just wondering hint...hint when traed is getting his story? His character has such depth. I love the way each book flows from one to another seamlessly. The writing makes you feel as if you are in their worlds. It would be nice to ketch up with gian and his people. A good writer makes you want to go back and re read and wonder how everyone is doing.
